This FDA-approved calcium hydroxylapatite-based dermal filler is injected into the skin to smooth deep wrinkles and folds which can develop due to aging or sun exposure. Radiesse also restores age-related volume loss and creates enhanced facial contouring.
Radiesse is different from other dermal fillers in that its active ingredient is made of calcium, like our bones. This sturdy yet highly elastic formulation adds immediate volume to the treatment area while also inducing collagen production for longer-lasting results. Sculptra is unlike other hyaluronic acid fillers in that it is not a specific site filler; it’s a natural substance that stimulates the body to re-grow your own collagen to restore lost volume. Sculptra works over time so it is less noticeable and more natural. With other fillers, results are immediate. While most fillers have to be repeated every 6-12 months, the effects of Sculptra can last for up to two years.
Sculptra is made of synthetic poly-l-lactic acid. PLLA has been used for many years in dissolvable stitches and medical implants. It is biocompatible, which means it will not harm your body.
